Welcome to Package Ratz!

This page is your view of the inside of Package Ratz Rattery and Rescue.

This is where the boys stay and play. Presently (April 08), Package Ratz has eight boys (two are for adoption). The boys love to hang out in their pool and sleep in the orange boat that they stole from Hilloah of Ratz Realm. "Shhh!! Don't tell her!!"

Here are the girls' homes. The girls are housed in two Martin's 685s. They have their pool/playground with their new (reclaimed) dinosaur toy. Presently (April 08), twelve girls reside in the Package. In this and the following pictures, you can see the babies (March/April litters) enjoying the setup. Rats love to play. The more engaged they are, the longer they live. Just like people, rats that don't exercise or eat right will have more health issues.

A closer look at the playground reveals tunnels and other toys. Rats can play with all sorts of toys. I do not leave these battery operated toys in their cages. They do get chewed on...

Not to mention, they chew on the rats...

This giraffe toy is made for toddler humans, but is great for baby or dwarf rats.

How we looked during the Modern Marvels shoot

I have since cut back on hammocks due to weather and replaced some of the toys.

Here are some other pictures of the rats in action (or relaxing)...

CaptainJack during his bath.

The octopus!!

Awww!! Cute Ripley resting!!

Ivory's baby playing in the shape ball. Do I fit?

Marley is the state ping-pong champion... Not really.

Lynx and her pal, Fergie

This is a picture of my old girl Lynx and Fergie, a Burmese owned by Ratz Realm, chilling in their hammock.

Stanley and ThomasMagnum meet their nephews

As I believe that it is important for the girls to interact, it is just as important for the boys to meet the new babies. They have to pay child support, after all. The above picture is of Higgins' first litter being introduced to Thomas and Stanley. Higgins is not in this particular picture.
You can see in the bowl, a cat ball. All my rats have access to numerous toys and play with them. When Thomas and Vanessa were.... (hem-hem) courting, they played catch with a cat ball. Thomas would drop it on Vanessa, and she would pick it up and drop it by him.

If you've looked all over my site, you know that this is Marley the dog.

Here, Marley waits by the door to make sure no one tries to skip town.

RobinMasters (Sky Blue) getting his official Package Ratz bath.

Marley gives every rattie a thorough cleaning as often as she can. Here Mr. Masters is getting a good wash before returning to Robin's Nest.

Stanley (Wheaten) and ThomasMagnum (Burmese)

Stanley and Thomas wait patiently for their baths.
